Features

Everything listed here is available today.

Each morning

The Today page

See who is out and who is covering, whether attendance is complete, what is scheduled this week, and what families are waiting on. Each item links to the screen where it is handled.

A morning brief by email

At 7:00 am on school days, administrators who opt in receive a summary of the Today page. No brief is sent on days the school is closed.

Staff absences and coverage

Record full-day or partial absences and whether coverage is needed from a substitute or a colleague.

The office log

Record phone calls, visitors, parent concerns, facilities issues and follow-ups as they happen.

Tasks and the calendar

Assigned tasks with due dates

Each task has an owner, a priority and a status, and the Today page shows what is due.

Recurring tasks

Weekly, monthly and yearly tasks create their next occurrence automatically when one is completed.

One school calendar

Events, deadlines, meetings, duties, days off, sports and fundraisers, each shared with the office, all staff or families.

Calendar downloads

Any event can be added to Google Calendar, Outlook or a phone calendar with one click.

The newsletter

Built from flexible blocks

Combine headings, photos, galleries, video, files, buttons, callouts, columns and cards. Start from a template or a blank page.

Families respond inside it

Include RSVPs, polls, volunteer sign-ups that show the spots remaining, and permission slips.

Content that updates itself

Upcoming dates, recent recognition from Post and the class board, birthdays where permitted, and office contact details fill in automatically.

Every family in their language

Before sending, Rostra shows how many families read each language. Each family receives the newsletter in their language, including dates.

An email and a web page

Each newsletter also has its own web page that families can open without an account.

Checks before sending

Rostra flags unfinished template text and images without descriptions before anything goes out.

What it does not do

Clear limits, so your school knows exactly what to expect.

  • Main Office is not sold separately. It is included with every Rostra school.
  • Tasks, the office log and staff absences are visible only to administrators. Calendar events are visible to staff or families only when you share them.
  • Newsletters are never sent automatically. A staff member sends each one or schedules it.
  • It does not send text messages. Newsletters are delivered by email and on the web.
